Geri Halliwell is friends with the woman her husband Christian Horner sent sleazy texts to: insider
This is getting Spice-y.
Spice Girl Gerri Halliwell is reportedly friends with the woman her racing boss husband Christian Horner is accused of sending sleazy messages to.
Horner, the high-powered head of the Red Bull F1 team, was cleared Wednesday in a workplace harassment probe after being accused of “coercive behavior.” Saucy texts allegedly sent to an unnamed female colleague subsequently leaked online.
Halliwell — who has been married to Horner since 2015 — is said to be humiliated by the scandal, which has been made worse by the fact that she is purportedly pals with the recipient of the racy messages.
According to an insider, the Spice Girl even vouched for the woman to work with her husband at Red Bull.
“They actually have a mutual friend and Geri liked her,” the source told the Daily Mail on Saturday. “In fact, she would speak positively about her.”
“She heard she was in line for the job and randomly, one of Geri’s old friends from her Spice Girls days knows this woman, so Geri put a word in,” the insider added.
“Geri likes to think she is a girl’s girl in many ways and thought she was doing a good thing back then. You can only imagine how she may regret that now.”
Publicly, at least, Halliwell is standing by her man, even after the suggestive texts leaked online.
On Saturday, the singer was seen smooching Horner after a race in Bahrain.
The couple share a 7-year-old son together.
In the alleged messages, Horner talked about a range of things with the female co-worker, including requesting selfies of her and asking her what she was wearing.
“What’s the outfit of choice today,” Horner allegedly texted the colleague, who responded, “Skirt.”
He then wrote, “Which one? Have I seen?” before asking the woman to send him a pic to “remind me.”
In another message, Horner allegedly asked the woman about her flexibility, writing, “might need to be slightly flexible … like you ,” before telling her to “take a selfie” after she said she could get one of her legs behind her head.
“Still in the spanx?” he allegedly asked, adding, “You look very attractive in them.”
When the colleague said they were “just leggings,” Horner allegedly replied, “But it’s what’s in them that counts!”
Horner has denied all wrongdoing.
