Ghost hunter shares creepy video from Old Alton Bridge

Just in time for spooky season, a ghost hunter has gone viral with a creepy TikTok of his visit to a Texas bridge that’s said to be one of the “most haunted places in America.”

Ghost hunter Kalani Smith, 24, who calls himself “the ghost-hunting cowboy,” documented his night at the Old Alton Bridge in Denton. The site is also called the Goatman’s Bridge from lore about a half-man and half-goat creature that reportedly haunts the area.

“Other paranormal teams that have come here are rumored to become possessed,” said the Nashville-based Smith, who has 2.2 million followers on TikTok.

People who cross the bridge at night have claimed to see the figure of a man with glowing demonic eyes and a ghost’s head. Local legend says that knocking three times on the bridge will conjure this apparition. Dozens of Smith’s fans virtually joined him in knocking on the bridge during his visit to the eerie location.

The structure is a historic iron truss bridge first built in 1884, connecting the Texas cities of Denton and Copper Canyon. In a video that’s been viewed 17.1 million times, Smith, clad in a black cowboy hat, documents his night at the haunted site, which is reported to have a dark history linked to a local African American goat farmer lynched by the KKK in the 1930s.

As the story goes, the farmer was hung from a bridge and his body vanished. Since then, the “goat man” has been said to haunt the area.

“This is rumored to be one of the most haunted places in America, and its dark history could really feed into that,” Smith explained. “It’s rumored that if we knock on the bridge three times at midnight, the ‘goat man’ will appear. I’ll…test that theory, and see if we get any kind of interaction with the ‘goat man,’ or any other entities in the area.”

Smith also alleged that people have found evidence of “modern-day satanic rituals” happening underneath the bridge.

During his visit to the spooky location, Smith alleged that he spotted, “A group of three individuals had items that I had never seen before… disappeared into the woods to perform a ritual.”
