‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner lied about not dating after wife’s death

This “Golden Bachelor” isn’t looking so golden anymore.

Gerry Turner is coming under fire after revealing that he did in fact lie about dating other women after his wife Toni died in 2017.

Chatting with Katie Couric one day after proposing to New Jersey native Theresa Nist, Turner came clean.

“I guess I would say this: I dated a number of women, but then it becomes an issue of how you define whether you’re in a relationship,” Turner, 72, said while appearing on a Zoom call with Nist, 70.

Turner later told Couric, 66, that he wanted “to focus on what’s going on now.”

One day before the “Golden Bachelor” finale on Nov. 30, a woman, who went by the name of Carolyn, told the Hollywood Reporter that Turner flirted with her for three months after his wife passed, and he asked her to move in with him in 2018.

Their relationship, however, fizzled out in 2019 when Turner allegedly dumped her after she gained 10 pounds mere months before his high school reunion.

“I’m not taking you to the reunion looking like that,” Carolyn claims Turner told her.

Things got worse when Turner allegedly ordered her to leave his home by early 2020.

While attempting to move things out, Carolyn accidentally suffered an injury after falling down the stairs and was forced to stay at the emergency room.

According to Carolyn, Turner claimed the woman hurt herself on purpose, and he forced her to live in a hotel.

“I really wish this would’ve worked out,” she recalled Turner allegedly telling her. “Call me when you get to your hotel, so I know you made it safe.”

Turner denied the accusations, saying that he doesn’t “have time to think about some of the other stuff.”

“I guess I haven’t really looked at it as how accurate it is,” Turner told the New York Times, adding he’s only given the article a “cursory look.”

“I’ve more looked at it in terms of timing, and how it really doesn’t fit with all of the positive things that are going on in my life right now.”

“I mean, I’m sitting across from Theresa right now, and I look at her, and she’s the love of my life. And I really don’t have time to think about some of the other stuff,” he added.

Turner echoed the same sentiment while speaking with the Los Angeles Times about all the “positive things” in his life.

“I have the wonderful love of Theresa, my partner,” he said. “I don’t have time to reflect on comments like this. I’m happy to look forward.”

Turner’s breakup with semifinalist Leslie Fhima, 64, also didn’t end well. When he told Fhima he was in love with Nist in the final episode, Leslie repeatedly said he lied to her.

“So everything you told me the other night was a lie,” the Minnesota fitness trainer said regarding their overnight date. “The other night, you made it sound like you chose me.”

“You said things to me that made me think that this was going to be it,” Fhima slammed. “You led me down a path, and then you took a turn and left me there, and that’s how I feel. It’s mind-boggling, to be honest, how you can talk to me all night, tell me you love me, and then one day — not even a day, 12 hours later — you changed your mind.”

The exes appeared cordial and even hugged during the “After the Final Rose” special.

As of now, Turner is set to wed Nist in a televised ceremony on Jan. 4, 2024.
