Gwyneth Paltrow reveals feelings about doing another Marvel film
Could Gwyneth Paltrow be suiting up for Marvel once again?
“I think so. I mean, I didn’t die, so they can always ask me,” the “Shakespeare in Love” alum, 50, told “Avengers” co-star Scarlett Johansson on a recent episode of Paltrow’s “Goop
podcast.
“I think you may come back at some point,” Johansson, 38, interjected about her potential return as Pepper Potts in the superhero franchise.
Paltrow then joked: “Really? A 64-year-old Pepper Potts? How great.”
“One hundred percent, that’s happening. I can see it,” the “Marriage Story” star teased back. “They’re never gonna let you go. Break out that wig, baby.”
Paltrow’s character is the longtime love interest of Tony Stark/Iron Man, played by series fan-favorite Robert Downey Jr.
The mother of two made her debut as Potts in 2008’s “Iron Man” with her last appearance in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.”
In total, Paltrow has reprised her role in seven Marvel flicks over the years.
Her last movie saw her donning a powerful exo-suit of armor similar to Iron Man’s.
She previously told Variety back in 2019 that “Avengers: Endgame” would be her last superhero feature.
“I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point,” she explained. “I feel very lucky that I did it because I actually got talked into it. I was friends with [‘Iron Man’ director] Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first ‘Iron Man’ and then to watch how important it has become to the fans.”
However, she would make herself available if the studio asked her to come back for a cameo.
“I feel honored to be a part of something that people are so passionate about,” she said. “Of course, if they said, ‘Can you come back for a day?’ I will always be there if they need me.
“I think if it was a small part that I could do in like a day or two, I would of course be open to that,” the controversial wellness guru added.
Elsewhere on the “Goop” podcast episode, Johansson made a rare comment about her ex-husband, 46-year-old “Deadpool” actor Ryan Reynolds, to whom she was married from 2008 to 2010.
The “Black Widow” star was married to the “Deadpool” actor, Paltrow asked how many times the “Black Widow” star was married, to which Johansson replied: “Three times.”
“Oh, that’s right, because I forgot you were married to Ryan Reynolds. Goals,” Paltrow said. “We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our house.”
“He’s a good guy,” Johansson agreed.
