Harry and Meghan made the ‘best decision’ on King’s coronation

Gayle King gave fans a taste of British royal-tea ahead of King Charles’s coronation next month.

The CBS News anchor and noted confidante of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spilled her thoughts surrounding the decision for the Duke of Sussex to go to London for the crowning event — sans the Duchess.

“I think Meghan and Harry should do what’s best for them,” King, 68, told Us Weekly at the Time100 red carpet on Wednesday.

“Clearly they know what’s going on in their family life. They know what’s going on over there.”

King also revealed that the couple doesn’t turn to her when it comes to making decisions regarding their relationship with the royal family.

“They consult me about nothing when it comes to that or anything for that matter,” King said. “I think they make the decision that’s best for them. But I think — as [far as] his dad — I’m glad he’s going.”

The Post reached out to reps for King for further comment while Markle’s reps declined to comment.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Harry would be attending the coronation by himself, following weeks of speculation about whether or not he and Markle would be in attendance.

“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6,” a spokesperson confirmed at the time.

The ceremony marks the official transfer of power to King Charles III after the death of his mom, Queen Elizabeth II, last September.

It will be the first time that the Prince goes home since he dropped his bombshell memoir in January, “Spare,” in which he alleged that his older brother, Prince William, had “physically attacked” him in 2019 over a dispute about Markle.

However, despite the recent controversies surrounding the couple — including a rumor that Markle hopes to inflict “maximum damage” before the ceremony — King insists that the two are truly in love and happy together.

“You’ve seen the two of them together and I know what they have is really true-blue,” she told the outlet. “And it’s good to see the happiness that they give each other.”

This isn’t the first time that King has defended her royal friends: In September, she spoke about a potential reconciliation between the couple and the royal family during the Queen’s funeral, alleging that there had been an attempt on both sides.

“There have been efforts on both sides to sort of make this right,” the anchor said on “Extra.”

“We shall see. Big families always go through drama, always go through turmoil. It remains to be seen —now are they going to be drawn closer together? Or are they going to be drawn apart? I have no idea. I have no inside information on that.”

In December, she also praised the pair’s Netflix docu-series, aptly titled “Harry & Meghan.”

During the interview, King also gushed about how in love the couple was.

“It’s not a reality show,” King said during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen. “It’s not.”

In March 2021, Gayle’s best pal, Oprah, conducted a jaw-dropping interview with Markle from her friend’s home in Santa Barbara.

During the interview, Markle alleged that there was a discussion in the royal family about the skin color of their son, Archie, who is now 3 years old.

She also claimed that she had suicidal thoughts while thrust into the royal spotlight.
