Harry Maguire move to West Ham back on as Manchester United draw up defender shortlist – Paper Round
Maguire move to West Ham could be back on
The Sun believes that West Ham could make a new offer to try to convince Harry Maguire to join them.
“The Hammers are trying to find a way to pay a little more to help United to pay off the England centre-back.
“They had agreed a £30million transfer fee but Maguire has two years left on his Old Trafford deal and is demanding a hefty United pay-off.
“West Ham agreed a four-year deal on £120,000 a week — a £70k weekly cut from his United wage.”
United draw up left-back list
There are three players on the shortlist to replace Luke Shaw at Manchester United while the defender recovers from injury.
“Luke Shaw’s muscle injury could keep him out until November and it has left United desperately under-staffed at left-back, what with Tyrell Malacia also on the sidelines and Brandon Williams on loan at Ipswich.
“Diogo Dalot struggled to fill in as a makeshift replacement in their 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday and Erik ten Hag would not want the club’s ambitions dented by a lack of cover.”
Salah not for sale state Liverpool
Liverpool have no intention of selling Mo Salah in a big money Saudi move.
“The Egyptian forward has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad over recent weeks. It was claimed that they were willing to make him the highest-paid player in the league – earning more than Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Despite the Reds taking a strong stance that he was simply not for sale this late in the window, that has not dampened the confidence in Saudi Arabia. There have been claims that he is keen to make the move and is set to undergo a medical with Ittihad following Liverpool’s clash with Newcastle at St James’ Park.
“The Reds have since responded to those claims. Ahead of the showdown in the north east, members of the Merseyside club are said to have spoken to beINSport and claimed that “nothing has changed” regarding Salah’s future.”
Arsenal may sell two players
The Express believes Mikel Arteta will soon take a view on the future of Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Magalhaes.
“During the 2-2 draw with Fulham on Saturday, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Magalhaes were named among the substitutes once again. The duo have not started any of Arsenal’s opening three Premier League games, as Arteta works to figure out his best team in order to challenge for silverware this season.
“Gabriel and Smith Rowe were both left on the bench for the entirety of the game, as Arteta’s gamble backfired and they were unable to keep 10-man Fulham at bay, conceding a late goal to drop two points. In previous games, Gabriel had come off the bench to shore up the defence, but this time was absent as a late Joao Palhinha goal dented Arsenal’s hopes of continuing their perfect start.
“Should either player feel that their chances of playing regularly this season are slim under Arteta, they could try their hand at leaving the Emirates before Friday’s deadline. Gabriel especially has had previous interest from Juventus and Saudi Arabia, while Smith Rowe has had his suitors in the Premier League.”
