Harry, Meghan deliberately trying to widen divide with royals: expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s gap between them and the royal family seems to be as big as the pond separating the UK and US.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the move to Montecito, Calif. in 2020 while the rest of the Firm stayed home in England.

Royal expert Jennie Bond recently revealed that the couple could be “deliberately trying to widen the divide” between them and the family.

“What is certain is that they are doing nothing to bridge the gap,” Bond told OK! recently.

“Meghan apparently didn’t have time to come to the UK with Harry for the Wellchild Awards because she had to deal with the children,” the commentator continued.

She added: “But then she stayed on after the Invictus Games to visit Eugenie in Portugal.”

Bond suggested that the “Suits” alum, 42, and Harry, 39, should “take a look at themselves” and revaluate their life choices.

“Perhaps only [Princess] Eugenie knows if they have any inclination to mend the rift with the rest of the family. For the moment, though, there is absolutely no sign that they intend to do so,” she said.

Harry and Markle have stayed close to his cousin Eugenie, 33, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, 37, since they stepped back as senior members of the Windsor clan three years prior.

In fact, a source told People that the foursome “talk constantly.”

Tensions between Harry, Markle, King Charles and Prince William have been particularly hard for the Princess of York, however.

“This whole drama between him and Meghan and the rift with the rest of the family has been really stressful for [Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice]. It’s hard to watch because they see both sides of it,” they said.

The source added that the girls “understand and live the royal machine.”

The rift between the Windsors and the Sussexes has grown since the latter released a slew of projects detailing their struggles with royal life, including his memoir, “Spare,” and their Netflix doc, “Harry & Meghan.”

Earlier this year, royal biographer Tom Bower alleged that a truce between the warring brothers is highly unlikely.

He divulged to OK! that Harry “can’t come back” to the Firm because he has “caused so much damage to the family.”

“I think Harry’s offer will ultimately be rejected. I doubt William and Kate [Middleton] can forgive Harry,” he explained. “The concern now is that if he does return, he could well damage it even further.”
