‘Harry & Meghan’ docuseries prompts British pub to release beer poking fun at duke of Sussex
The Netflix docuseries left a bitter taste in this owner’s mouth.
A British pub owner launched a brand new beer Sunday in response to the new Prince Harry and Meghan Markle documentary, reports Indy100.
The docuseries — whose first three episodes dropped on Thursday — gives viewers a more intimate view of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“Harry & Meghan” has received mixed reviews from viewers, with some people calling it “incredible” with “nothing not to like,” while other people have slammed the docuseries as “hypocritical.”
One bar expressed its views on the series with the brand-new beer called “Harry’s Bitter.”
“Kudos to the Duke of Sussex pub in Chiswick (West London) for this beautifully British riposte to Harry & Meghan’s self-pitying Netflix show,” tweeted one fan. “Fittingly, with only 3.9% alcohol, “Harry’s Bitter” is as weak as its namesake…”
The beer’s logo features the former royal in a red, white and blue color scheme.
“Fair or not, this is funny,” tweeted one user.
“Will and Kate should [stop] by for a drink,” tweeted another.
“Love the Brits’ sense of hum(o)ur,” a third person chimed in.
Other people slammed the bar for being disrespectful.
“Prince Harry served in the Army for ten years, rising to the rank of Captain and undertaking two tours of Afghanistan,” slammed a user. “He continues to work in support of his fellow servicemen, promoting support for wounded men and women as they adapt to life post-injury. And you?”
“Negative and a bit pathetic. Try saying something pleasant. You’ll feel better for it,” a third person hit back.
