Harry, Meghan urged to end ‘deafening silence’ to defend King Charles amid racism claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being urged to publicly defend King Charles and Kate Middleton after the two royals were accused of questioning Archie’s skin color.

In the Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s biography, “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival,” the King and Princess of Wales are said to have made a “racist” comment

The royal family has not responded to the allegations — or any claims made in the book — and Scobie blamed a translation error made by the publisher in the Netherlands for the snafu.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained tight-lipped since the allegations came to light.

“For the couple that talked about ‘death by a thousand no comments’, the silence at this point is deafening,” a source told the Telegraph of the Sussexes.

Another insider said the fact that Harry and Meghan haven’t spoken out yet is “interesting” especially after the pair complained about not being publicly defended by the royals in past interviews.

Charles this week put on a brave face and appeared to be in high spirits as he landed in Dubai Thursday for the COP28 Climate Change Conference.

The monarch was asked how he was feeling ahead of his keynote speech.

“I’m all right very much, just about,” the royal said, before jokingly adding, “Having had a rather ancient birthday recently recovering from the shock of that.”

Also earlier this week, Scobie blamed the ordeal on a “translation error,” however the translator responsible for the book’s Dutch version has since disputed his claim.

In an interview on BBC Newsnight Thursday, the royal author was given the chance to express his regret over the error but instead said it’s “not fair” for people to expect an apology from him.

Scobie, 42, said that the book he “was extremely proud of” has been “completely overshadowed by an event that’s caused me a lot of frustration.”

He insists that the naming and shaming fiasco is not a publicity stunt.

In 2021, Harry and Markle initially divulged to Oprah Winfrey that the Windsor clan commented on how dark their son Archie’s skin would be before he was born.

“That conversation I’m never going to share. But at the time, it was awkward. I was a bit shocked. I’m not comfortable sharing it,” Harry told Winfrey.
