‘Harry Potter’ to light up Empire State Building for 25th anniversary

Goodbye Hogwarts, hello New York City.

The Empire State Building will be lit up in Hogwarts house colors on Sept. 27 in honor of the 25th anniversary of the “Harry Potter” books being published.

Starting at sunset, onlookers can watch the tower lights shine red for Gryffindor, yellow for Hufflepuff, blue for Ravenclaw, and green for Slytherin.

New Yorkers can also put on a costume or wizard robe and enjoy a pop-up cart on the 86th Floor Observation Deck, where they can grab free copies of the book and bottles of Butterbeer.

Fans across the globe can also catch the light display on the Empire State’s live cam.

Author JK Rowling, 58, published the series’ first book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” in 1997.
