Helen Mirren ‘so excited’ to ‘be in bed’ with Harrison Ford

One of Helen Mirren’s favorite things to do on the set of the show “1923” is get into bed with co-star Harrison Ford.

Mirren, 77, joked about her love scenes with Ford, 80, in a recent conversation with TheWrap about her work on the “Yellowstone” spinoff.

“I had to be in the bed with him, you know. I’m dressed up to here,” she said, pointing to her neck during the outlet’s Q&A session about the show.

“But I’m lying there and I’m thinking, ‘I’m in bed with Harrison Ford.’ I was so excited, I can’t tell you. I had to pretend to be cool. Don’t tell him. Promise me,” the “Queen” star gushed.

The “Indiana Jones” icon and the British legend starred together in the 1986 drama “The Mosquito Coast.”

“He’s amazing. He really is. The stature he’s held, as a major, humongous movie star, all that time, at the same time as somebody who doesn’t love the limelight. He has this interior quality to him,” Mirren said.

The “Fast 9” actress added: “He’s come to a place where he can be easy with other actors. It’s immensely generous and incredibly professional. Not remotely spoiled movie star, at all. I genuinely love him. If I wasn’t married …”

Mirren and Ford portray husband and wife Cara and Jacob Dutton in creator Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount network Western drama. But not to worry fans, Mirren is still happily married to director Taylor Hackford and Ford is married to actress Calista Flockhart.

The show is a prequel to Kevin Costner’s “Yellowstone” series and follows an older generation of the Dutton family in 1923, as they deal with conflicts such as Prohibition, the early stages of the Great Depression and drought.

Mirren revealed over the weekend that she was so excited to join Sheridan’s project, that she signed on without seeing any scripts.

She was also unsure of who she would be portraying before joining the cast.

During Deadline’s Contenders Television panel April 16, the “Woman in Gold” star divulged that Ford also didn’t know who his character was going to be before getting on board.

“For the first time in my life, I wasn’t given a script. I had no idea what it was going to be, and likewise for Harrison [Ford],” Mirren said. “We were asked to participate, and you do what you do as an actor and say, ‘Lovely, sounds really interesting. I’d love to read the script?’ But there is no script.”

“Taylor likes to write for the people that he knows are going to play the role. That was a combination of flattering and, at the same time, sort of rather nerve-wracking because I’d actually never met Taylor Sheridan [beforehand] and maybe when he meets me, he won’t want to write for me,” Mirren said.

Mirren also has a special place in Ford’s heart and he praised her acting chops in an interview with the Times last year.

“She throws herself into everything without any hesitation,” the “Blade Runner” actor pointed out, adding that she’s no longer “intimidated” by him.
