High schooler jumped out window after taking ‘magic mushrooms’

A Massachusetts high schooler suffered severe injuries when he jumped from a window after taking magic mushrooms – prompting police to investigate a local drug dealer believed to be targeting teens.

The Brookline High School student – who was not named publicly – plunged six stories after he took the illegal substance, Boston 25 reported.

The incident caused authorities to zero in on a suspected drug dealer in Brookline Village named “Niko” who supposedly “took particular interest in selling to underage teens,” the Brookline Police Department said.

“Many of these items have found their way onto the campus of Brookline High School, where students have been caught with items alleged to have been purchased from Niko,” the department noted.

Niko is now facing drug charges for allegedly buying drugs “not suitable for kids” – including psychedelic mushrooms – at marijuana dispensaries and sold them to his “many underage customers,” the Brookline force continued.

The department also shared a slideshow of the paraphernalia that was seized under a search warrant related to Niko’s arrest as a warning for parents.

“Do you recognize any of the items in the pictures? These are items recovered after a search warrant and arrest of an accused drug dealer who targeted Brookline teens,” the caption read.

“Many kids are unwitting victims of his harmful chemicals and toxins. So, if you see some of these items in your teen’s room, don’t dismiss them as typical harmless pocket junk. Pay attention, and protect your kids from harmful substances,” authorities added.

One local parent said that she is definitely concerned about the prevalence of drugs among the community’s young people.

“Definitely a big concern, we don’t know where it’s coming from. We’re completely oblivious to what’s happening. So, it’s a big concern, especially not knowing,” Sandra Cerda told Boston 25.

“It is concerning people are taking these illicit drugs, but I think we have it relatively good here in Brookline,” Brookline High School freshman Amedeo Bettauer added.
