La remontada to end all remontadas?

Surely you don’t come back from 5-2 down in the first leg to beat any team in the Champions League knockouts, let alone Real Madrid, let alone at the Bernabeu?

That’s the task facing Jurgen Klopp and his men as they seek to overturn the gaping deficit from a chastening first leg at Anfield.

“It is really not even in my mind,” Klopp said after the first leg, when asked if he felt the tie was still winnable.

“We go there, I can say it now already, and try to win the game.

“If that is possible or not, I don’t know now but that’s what we will try and from there we will see.”

Liverpool don’t go into the game on a great footing either, having lost 1-0 at lowly Bournemouth last weekend.

At least Klopp may be able to field something like his first XI, with the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Diogo Jota both absent from the first leg.
