Hugh Jackman is jacked in ‘Wolverine’ training post-split

Hugh Jackman is getting jacked up. The actor showed off his gym workout via Instagram on Tuesday as he prepares to return as Wolverine in “Deadpool 3.”

“Hurts so good,” Jackman, 54, wrote, as he laughed for the camera while sweating it out.

In July, the Aussie actor shared the first look at himself back in the classic yellow costume. In the photo, he posed alongside costar Ryan Reynolds, who plays the title character.

“Don’t blink,” the caption read.

In September 2022, it was revealed that the “Les Misérables” star would be reprising his role in “Deadpool 3.”

“Hard keeping my mouth sewn shut about this one,” Reynolds captioned a video via Twitter of the announcement. “We’re extremely sad to have missed D23 but we’ve been working hard on the next Deadpool film for a good long while now.”

Jackman first played the Marvel character in 2000’s “X-Men,” and his character faced his death in 2017’s “Logan.” In August 2021, he told Jake’s Takes that the character would always be meaningful to him.

“It’s still a character I hold close to my heart, but I know it’s done,” Jackman said at the time. “Tell that to whoever you want, but please tell it to Ryan [Reynolds]. Because he doesn’t believe it. He thinks I’m joking.”

Jackman’s workout video comes days after he attended the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets in East Rutherford, New Jersey, alongside Reynolds, 46, Blake Lively, “Deadpool 3” director Shawn Levy and Taylor Swift — who cheered on Chiefs’ Travis Kelce in-person for the second time amid dating buzz.

It also was one of Jackman’s first public outings since his split from estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness after 27 years of marriage.

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they shared in a joint statement to People last month. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”

They added: “We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.” (They are parents of two adopted children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.)

Furness broke her silence on the matter during an appearance on “The Kyle & Jackie O Show.”

“We have actually called you by mistake, it’s ridiculous,” Sandilands told Furness, 67, Daily Mail reported. “We didn’t mean to actually call you. But now you’re here, we won’t go into it. We love you, we hope you’re well.”

“Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. You’re really sweet,” Furness responded.

“The Greatest Showman” actor, meanwhile, told a cameraman in NYC that “it’s a difficult time.”

The third installment of the “Deadpool” trilogy is set to be released May 3, 2024.
