Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine suit revealed in ‘Deadpool 3’ first look

Hugh Jackman is ready for his next turn as his beloved Marvel character, the Wolverine.

The Aussie actor, 54, shared a first look at himself rocking the classic yellow costume of the metal-clawed mutant Monday.

Jackman will be reprising his decades-long role for next year’s “Deadpool 3.”

He shared a snapshot of himself on his Instagram Stories alongside a red suit-clad Ryan Reynolds, who portrays the sword-wielding comedic Deadpool.

“Don’t blink,” the caption read.

Reynolds, 46, posted the same photo of the two donning their superhero costumes on his own social media feed.

While Wolverine’s blue and canary-yellow costume has been widely seen in the Marvel Comics, it has yet to be shown on-screen.

Jackman first played the role in 2000’s “X-Men,” and his character faced his death in 2017’s “Logan” — both times wearing street clothes or a black leather suit.

However, several allusions to the latex-covered look have been referenced in previous films of the “X-Men” franchise.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman both shared this photo on their social media pages from the set of “Deadpool 3.”

In the first “X-Men” movie, there was a joke where the other actors sported simple black superhero suits.

“You actually go outside in these things?” Wolverine quipped. “What would you prefer? Yellow spandex?” James Marsden’s character Cyclops scoffed back.

In 2013’s “The Wolverine,” a deleted scene featured the hero on a plane and he is given a box with the bright ensemble neatly packed in.

It was announced in September 2022 that the “Les Misérables” star would be appearing in “Deadpool 3,” following previous reports that he was going to hang up his Marvel career after years of portrayal.

Jackman revealed earlier this year why he decided to finally return to his action roots and how Reynolds consistently begged him to make an appearance in the upcoming film.

“I wasn’t tortured by it. When people would ask me [to reprise the role] — including Ryan, every five seconds, I was like: ‘I’m done,’ ” Jackman told the Guardian.

“[I] just wanted to do it and I felt it in my gut,” he added of transforming into the Wolverine once again.

He then quipped: “I get to punch the s–t out of Ryan Reynolds every day.”

The third installment of the “Deadpool” trilogy is set to be released May 3, 2024, and will be directed by Shawn Levy.

It’s the first R-rated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the first two “Deadpool” films were rated R, but that was before Disney bought the rights — and will also star returning cast members Morena Baccarin and Brianna Hildebrand.

Actors added to the mix include “The Crown” star Emma Corrin, “Alias” star Jennifer Garner and “Succession” star Matthew Macfadyen. Garner, 51, will be returning to her role of Elektra, an antihero first seen in 2003’s “Daredevil.”
