I breastfeed my nephew to help my sister

A mom of four has left some social media users aghast and others singing her praises after revealing she breastfeeds her sister’s baby.

Janelle McAloon shared the divisive clip of her breastfeeding her 3-month-old nephew on Instagram, writing: “when your sister has low milk supply but you are a human cow.”

“Anything for my nephew,” she captioned the clip of her sister handing over her nephew Callum for a feed. The clip, posted three weeks ago, has been viewed over 11.3 million times so far.

Although Callum’s mother, Lisa McAloon, clearly appreciates her sister lending a boob, not everyone agreed with the situation.

“Idk about this,” one dubious commenter wrote.

“OK this is nasty,” said another.

“I’m sorry but this is unusual,” another user declared. “I get helping out with the breast milk but why can’t you just pump it and put it in bottles then? Why do they have to literally be passed on from breast to breast?”

Others praised the sisters, with some pointing out there is a formula shortage that means they might not be able to access it for their babies.

“Women give milk supply to other mothers all the time. This is a blessing to help!!” a commenter gushed.

“I’m not gonna lie. I had a flash of ‘wtf.’ But then just that quickly it was replaced with me questioning why that would bother me. Feed that baby. That’s all that matters,” agreed another.

According to the Mirror, in a follow-up video McAloon told critics why breastfeeding her nephew isn’t strange and why they continue to do it, adding it’s not something they do everyday.

“She just got done breastfeeding her baby and he was still hungry, he wanted more milk, she didn’t have enough so I was like ‘give him to me, I will feed him for you,’ ” she said.
