I didn’t know I was pregnant until I saw the head pop out

Surprise!

A teen mom revealed the shocking way she discovered she was pregnant: by going into labor.

The woman, named Alexis, claimed on TikTok that she had no clue she was pregnant until her own mom spotted the baby’s head popping out from under Alexis’ uniform skirt.

The 19-year-old, who gave birth at 15, detailed her surprising cryptic pregnancy — one that fails to be detected — in a clip amassing more than 2 million views.

“Storytime about my cryptic pregnancy!” she wrote in the caption.

Despite negative tests and regular periods after noticing unusual heartburn, she carried on her regular life until she noticed some back pain, but popped some painkillers “thinking nothing of it” — until she couldn’t sleep.

Convinced she wasn’t pregnant, Alexis continued life as usual.

One morning, she went “to the toilet” before going to school and feeling the “urge to push,” called out to her mom for help — that’s when she spotted her child’s head.

Instead of going to classes that day, she gave birth on the floor of her living room with her parents and aunt.

While viewers laughed at the woman’s father for rushing to grab pregnancy tests when she was already in labor — “Little late for the test, dad,” wrote one jokester — others claimed she was lying.

“Yes. I don’t believe it,” one skeptic commented.

“Hold on they didn’t notice her round tummy??” wrote another doubtful user.

“Dads just like ‘nah this is not proof enough,’ ” quipped another.

“I laughed out loud at the last bit — dad, save your money,” wrote someone else.

Amidst the jokes and snide comments, others seemed fearful they could meet the same fate.

“I am not liking how common cryptic pregnancies seem to be,” someone else said.

Cryptic pregnancies, when the woman doesn’t know she’s pregnant until at least halfway through her pregnancy, affect 1 in 475 women. Yet, only 1 in 2,500 won’t realize they’re pregnant until they go into labor.

Lack of symptoms, irregular periods, birth control, spotting, age, fertility and not feeling a “bump” or movement are amongst the most common causes for cryptic pregnancies.

In addition to being a surprise, they can also be dangerous.

Not only could the mother be consuming alcohol and using tobacco products which could harm the fetus, but she also won’t receive necessary prenatal care.
