I got my baby by buying a $30 DIY sperm donor kit online

Who needs a man to become a parent when all it takes is $30?

A woman named Bailey Ennis underwent artificial insemination by using a sperm donor kit she purchased online for just that much.

The 24-year-old from London gave birth to her son, Lorenzo, in July, and she “couldn’t be happier” with her decision to be a single parent.

Ennis documents her newfound family life on TikTok, posting adorable videos of her son almost daily.

In a recent post, she clapped back at doctors who judged her for getting pregnant via sperm donation as a single woman.

“Best choice ever,” she captioned her clip while cradling her son.

In another TikTok, she even joked about having another baby with her son’s biological dad. In a clip that appears to show Ennis typing into her phone, she wrote, “Me Googling ‘what it’s like to have two [kids] under two [years-old]’ because my donor is back from Italy soon.”

“I came to the realization that I didn’t want to be in a relationship to have a baby,” she said.

Ennis has said that she used a sperm donor website to find profiles of healthy men who had experience with seed donation.

Once she found the perfect one, the law student then acquired the insemination kit online from a special medical services provider.

“Having a baby by myself is the best thing I have ever done,” Ennis recently told the Sun. “I came to the realization that I didn’t want to be in a relationship to have a baby,” the London native continued. “I knew I could just do it by myself.”

She explained that after she found the right person, she messaged them to meet up for coffee before agreeing to do the insemination.

The man has since consented to be Ennis’ donor again — for “as many children as I would like,” she said.

“I wasn’t looking for particular features, but I just wanted someone trustworthy and as healthy as possible,” she continued. “I wanted to have blood-related siblings.”

The man gave her his sperm sample once he visited her home. She then used the kit — which contained sterile cups, syringes and ovulation tests — to fertilize herself.

“It was really easy and not awkward at all,” Ennis added.

Of her newborn son, the Brit gushed, “I thought he was gorgeous as soon as I saw him. He has my nose, big eyes like mine and my brown hair. He smiles when he passes wind — it’s really cute.”

Ennis also stated that her donor will receive updates about the son they share, and that Lorenzo “will know about [his father] in the future.”
