‘I have become obsessed with you’
Alex Murdaugh has received scores of love letters from behind bars — including one from a woman who gushed that she’s become “obsessed” with the convicted killer, according to a report.
The notes were included in 86 pages of emails sent to the fallen South Carolina legal scion since he was sentenced last month to two life-terms in prison for killing his wife, Maggie, 52, and his son, Paul, 22 in June 2021.
“The thought of Alex Murdaugh consumes me day and night,” Danielle H. wrote in one of the more provocative emails, which were obtained by Fox News Digital. “I’m almost tempted to write you something erotic,” the April 13 email said.
She begged the convicted killer for a reply: “I think I have become obsessed with you. I don’t care what you’ve done,” she told him. “Alex. Can you please respond?…Mr. Murdaugh? Just one little hi?”
Danielle, a Las Vegas resident, sent him more than one dozen messages. On April 11 she wrote “I am constantly thinking about you. I cannot stop. I love you!!!”
Another fawning fan boasted to Murdaugh that she looked like actress Jessica Biel.
“I was compared to Jessica Biel yesterday at the gym….what a compliment, she’s so athletic and fit!” Katie Marie, of Boston, wrote to him. “I look like a beauty queen contestant,” she added.
She warned the 54-year-old to be wary of the other women who are after him.
“If they’re acting like they want you, they’re just hoping you have money OR will put them on the map,” said Marie, who also said she served an 18-month stint in prison for selling heroin.
Rachel B., a 36-year-old mother of two from Missouri told Murdaugh that she would “bet I’m the hottest one you’ve gotten mail from thus far!”
According to Fox, Murdaugh does not appear to have responded to any of the love notes, although, like other prisoners, he is provided with a tablet with limited internet access, email and phone capabilities.
His attorney, Jim Griffin, told the outlet he doesn’t think his client has had a chance to read all of the emails. He added that he was suspicious of the women’s intentions in sending the emails, and believes they may just be seeking attention.
“It does appear to me that they have become more romantic, and I’m suspicious that people who are writing know their messages will be sent to the media,” he said.
Murdaugh’s fans have also donated money into his commissary account, Griffin said, but he does not have access to the funds at this time.
He was placed in protective custody and moved to McCormick Correctional Institution in South Carolina earlier this month due to the high-profile nature of his case.
