I thought I’d die from ‘Walking Dead’ injury

Norman Reedus frightened fans as well as the cast and crew when he suffered a concussion on the set of “The Walking Dead” this past March.

While it was first reported that it was a simple head injury and he would be recovering soon, it turns out that the accident was more traumatic than people initially believed, Reedus revealed.

The actor, 53, spoke to Entertainment Weekly, recalling how the injury was “horrible” and the “whole ordeal for me personally was terrifying.”

“I thought I was going to die,” the “Boondock Saints” actor said. “It was very serious. It was scary. I’ve been hit in the face and the head a million times. I’ve gone through car windows, but that one rung my bell.”

The Florida native has portrayed hunter Daryl Dixon on the AMC drama since 2010.

After the concussion occurred, Reedus — who plays Daryl Dixon — underwent several tests to ensure his health.

“I had a neurologist. I had all sorts of s – – t,” he explained. “I failed the light test. I had a security guard in the driveway, just in case. I was holding onto the walls walking through the rooms. It was nuts.”

Just several weeks after the incident, news surfaced that Reedus was recovering well and would be back on the set of the AMC series to finish up filming the eleventh and final season.

Due to the mishap, the shooting had to be pushed back a few weeks and the “Gossip” actor said he felt some culpability for what happened.

“You’re shooting over a year, and now we’re having to postpone some of the shooting because I’m lying in bed,” the father of two said. “So the guilt of me not being at work and people are like, ‘Are we going to go a week over? Are we going two weeks over?’ — that was bothering me.”

The second half of the final season of “The Walking Dead” is set to premiere on Oct. 2 on AMC. The series finale will close out the show on Nov. 20.
