I was fired from ‘Fight Club’ after going ‘nuclear’ on Brad Pitt

Courtney was not feeling the love for Brad Pitt.

Musician-actress Courtney Love contends that she was fired from the 1999 cult classic “Fight Club” because she denied co-star Brad Pitt the chance to appear in a potential film about her late husband, Kurt Cobain.

Love, 58, claimed during the podcast “WTF With Marc Maron” that she was slated to play Marla before being replaced by Helena Bonham Carter.

“I don’t know if I trust you, and I don’t know that your movies are for profit. They’re really good social justice movies, but … if you don’t get me, you kind of don’t get Kurt, and I don’t feel like you do, Brad,” the singer recalled saying to Pitt.

“I wouldn’t let Brad play Kurt,” she added. “I went nuclear. I don’t do Faust. Who the f – – k do you think [you] are?”

Love said that she would be interested in doing a film about her late husband; however, she would not want to do it with Pitt, who proposed another Cobain biopic in 2020.

“My friend Cameron Crowe [told me] Brad Pitt was put on this earth to stalk you for Kurt, which has been going on since 1996,” said Love.

Love and Cobain married in 1992 before Cobain’s death at the age of 27 in 1994.

According to the Hole frontwoman, it was “Fight Club” co-star Edward Norton who broke the casting rejection news to Love.

"I wouldn’t let Brad play Kurt,” said Love. "I went nuclear. I don’t do Faust. Who the f--k do you think are?”

“He starts sobbing,” Love recalled. “He was like, ‘I don’t have the power!’ ”

The singer revealed that shortly after Norton told her, she received a call from the film’s director, David Fincher, who confirmed that she was knocked out of the film. (In 1996, Love went on to star in “The People vs. Larry Flynt,” directed by Milos Forman, and nabbed a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.)

Later in the podcast, Love clarified that she was not talking about the 2005 movie “Last Days,” which was inspired by Cobain and written and directed by Gus Van Sant.

The Post has reached out to Pitt and Fincher for comment.
