I’m 91 and look great in a bikini — without even trying
A great-grandmother mistaken for looking decades younger than her 91 years is sharing her surprising diet and beauty secrets.
Joan Richmond-Woodhouse — originally from Great Britain — currently resides in Costa Colida, Spain, where she frequently flaunts her fabulous physique in skimpy swimwear.
But the nonagenarian nana says she doesn’t watch what she eats in order to maintain her fit figure, instead chowing down on meat pies and roast dinners.
“I don’t do anything special to stay young,” Richmond-Woodhouse told South West News Service on Monday. “I love pies and English grub, so even in Spain I’ve stuck to eating that.
“I don’t follow any silly diets,” she further claimed. “I just eat what I want and what makes me happy. I’ve never put any weight on.”
Richmond-Woodhouse, who has eight children and 18 grandchildren, said her beauty routine is similarly simple.
The age-defying blond slathers on with the same drugstore Nivea moisturizer she has used since she was 16 years old.
Meanwhile, a happy love life also keeps the sun-soaked senior citizen feeling footloose and fancy-free. The gran was widowed by the death of her long-term hubby, Trevor, several years ago, but has since found love with retired cargo coordinator, David Winder, 84.
Richmond-Woodhouse believes it’s her positive attitude and zest for life that keeps her looking young. “I don’t know how to behave like a 91-year-old. I just act the same as I did when I was 21,” she said.
“I love wearing a bikini and going to the beach with my granddaughter,” she further enthused.
Granddaughter Lydia, 27, says her gran is constantly being asked to show proof that she’s really the age she claims to be.
She put her nana’s youthfulness down to good genes. “Lots of members of our family get complimented on our youthful looks and it’s almost like we get to a certain age then we age backwards,” Lydia said.
“I hope when I’m older I’m like my grandma and inherit her genes and look as good as she does at her age,” she added. “I really hope to have her luck.”
