I’m a boozing ‘sinner’ — my Mormon boyfriend is my designated driver

A social media star has dished on what it’s really like to date a Mormon — and as an admitted “sinner,” it’s not all beatitudes.

TikTok star Cierra Mistt, 28, who boasts over 3 million followers on the video-sharing platform, admitted that she wasn’t sure what to expect when she — an ostensibly secular white woman from Florida — began dating a man who is both Korean and Mormon.

Mistt, who now lives in Utah — where she met her better half — has told followers on social media that she often feels regret for imbibing from time to time.

After admitting that she enjoys “drinking, doing the dirty, and basically everything else a Mormon is not supposed to do,” the TikToker said her boyfriend still made “the decision to date a sinner like me.”

Alcohol, smoking, stimulating drinks, such as tea and coffee, and other intoxicants are all banned by the Mormon, or “LDS”, church, which refers to its full brand: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Predictably, premarital sex is also a no-no.

“I drink, he doesn’t,” she explained in a recent TikTok video. “You might be wondering how that’s a ‘pro.’”

Because alcohol is prohibited in the Mormon Church, the TikToker revealed her boyfriend is her designated driver.
The sin-fluencer joked about the perks of having a chauffeur on standby, but also revealed the guilt she feels about her liberal liquid diet.

She joked that she and her pals are nothing short of “fully functioning alcoholics.”

“Knowing that we have a permanent DD [designated driver] any time we get into shenanigans is probably the best news ever,” she continued.

Mistt joked about the perks of having a chauffeur on standby, but also revealed the guilt she feels about her liberal liquid diet.

“I’m talking any time I get into the fridge and grab a White Claw, there is constant judgment. From him? No, silly gooses, from me. Since I met his sober self, I’ve started judging myself hard — and even harder every time he tells me that he doesn’t judge me. But I know he means it,” she explained.

Though it’s unclear how long the pair have been dating, Mistt introduced her man to her loyal followers earlier this month. In fact, the interfaith inamoratos recently ventured east to Florida, so that Mistt could introduce him to her family.

Mistt said she often feels guilty for drinking when her boyfriend doesn't.
Meanwhile, the typical travails of multiethnic relationships have proved to be a boon on her end. “I never knew my love for Korean barbecue,” she said.

Meanwhile, the typical travails of multiethnic relationships have proved to be a boon on her end. “I never knew my love for Korean barbecue until I was introduced, but now I am obsessed,” said Mistt.

“Not only that, but any times he comes over and knows that I’m hungry, which is normally all the time, he’ll bring whatever his mom made for dinner that night — and let me tell you, it’s bussin,” she gushed.

But there is yet one multicultural culinary challenge she’s yet to overcome: chopsticks.

Said Mistt, “When visiting other countries or going to an Asian restaurant, I know they are going to judge, but they will have a fork. And, if not, they’re at least going to have some kiddie chopsticks I can use.”

“Not gonna lie, I honestly think this is my boyfriend’s biggest pet peeve about me also,” she added.
