I’m addicted to marriage after 11 tries and the failure is painful

Love is indeed a battlefield.

A woman is now searching for her 12th husband but she still hasn’t given up on love.

Monette Dias, 52, an interior designer based in Utah, is one of the stars of TLC’s “Addicted to Marriage” which followed her relationship with her boyfriend, John.

Most the show appeared to show that Dias might have finally gotten it right, but a serious fight changed the course of the couple’s relationship.

The couple’s argument turned into a conversation about the issues in their relationship and their future together, which appeared to be nonexistent.

“The breakup is hard for me and I’m sad because I love John, but this argument that we just had reaffirms that this is the right move for me,” she told the cameras.

“It’s really painful to have another failure, especially in this relationship where I tried so hard and gave so much. But they say that the one that loves the most, and the one that gives the most, is the one that hurts the most.”

Despite her many failed relationships, Dias still believes her perfect match is out there waiting for her.

“Right now, I would say I’m not looking for No. 12, but we haven’t had my two-month mourning time because then I’ll probably be ready. Nobody likes a quitter,” she bravely stated.

“All through my life, any time anything was really hard, or it went wrong or really bad, something really good came from it. And so I’m still going to hold on hope for finally having a good marriage.” 

Dias’ sister Marcie, who has been married for 38 years, also hopes that Dias finds her true love but was a little more discouraged at her prospects.

“When Monette was married two, three times, I never worried that something was wrong with her or anything like that,” she said.

“But when Monette got to marriages nine and 10 — and just divorced and then meets someone else and then divorce[d again]. Maybe she’s not going to find that right one.” 

The distraught sister then broke into tears explaining her deep desire for her sister to find a true and lasting love.

“The biggest thing that I want for Monette is to have what I have because I love her and it hurts me that she doesn’t. It breaks my heart that she doesn’t, I want her to have that. She deserves it and I don’t know if she knows she deserves it, but she does,” her sister said.

“She deserves to be happy and to be loved.”
