Jadon Sancho among 13 Man Utd players up for sale, Mason Mount transfer bid remains open – Paper Round

Sancho for sale at right price

Manchester United would be willing to sell Jadon Sancho this summer and would entertain offers of around £45m in their bid to raise transfer funds, the Daily Mail reports. Both Sancho and Anthony Martial could leave for the right price, while United will also listen to offers for Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Dean Henderson. Fred and Donny van de Beek are among the names United hope to sell this summer.

The Daily Mail writes: “The club hope that selling some of the current squad will raise at least £50m and possibly even £100m to re-invest, although sources within the football industry have dismissed any suggestion of a fire sale and it’s understood there is no prospect of all 13 of the available United players leaving.

“In the case of Sancho, Martial, Maguire and Scott McTominay, it’s understood that none of them are being forced out of Old Trafford and United are happy to let them stay and fight for their places. If any one of the four departs, it would leave a gap in the squad that needs filling before the start of the new season.

“United would listen to offers in the region of £45m for Sancho who has struggled to make the impact expected of him since arriving from Borussia Dortmund for £73m two years ago.”

Man Utd leave Mount bid on table

After Chelsea rejected Manchester United’s third bid of £55m for Mason Mount, the Telegraph claims that offer remains on the table while United explore other midfield options. United are frustrated that Chelsea sold 29-year-old Mateo Kovacic for £30m to Manchester City, who like 24-year-old Mount had one year remaining on his contract. Chelsea want £65m for Mount, but United will leave their latest offer open for the Blues to reconsider.

The Telegraph writes: “The preference strongly remains to sign Mount who is keen to make the move to Old Trafford this summer. Telegraph Sport revealed last month that personal terms had been agreed with Mount, who is Erik ten Hag’s first-choice to fill the key ‘number eight’ role in midfield.

“It means the only hold-up on the deal is Chelsea’s valuation. They are insisting on a fee of £65 million for Mount, including add-ons, even though he has just one year left on his contract and has no intention of signing a new deal.

“Sources have suggested that Chelsea are being unreasonable in their demands over Mount and also that there is no need for the two clubs to meet to discuss the deal further.”

Leipzig want more than £86m for Gvardiol

Manchester City are looking at making a bid for Josko Gvardiol, but RB Leipzig want more than €100m (£86m) for the centre-back, the Guardian reports. The Croatian is said to be keen on a move to the Treble winners, with personal terms also agreed, but the transfer fee could stall City’s hopes of signing a player who has four years left on his current contract.

The Guardian adds: “Leipzig would prefer to keep the 21-year-old and are under no pressure to sell one of their star assets as Gvardiol signed a new contract until 2027, having been linked with a move to Chelsea last summer. The London club instead signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and Wesley Fofana from Leicester.

“He already has 21 caps for Croatia and the added advantage is that he can play as a left-back, too. Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the player and the Manchester City manager has made him one of his top targets this summer.”

Luis Enrique to PSG this week

Paris Saint-Germain are finalising Luis Enrique’s contract and will confirm his appointment as head coach this week, Le Parisien reports. Christophe Galtier’s departure is yet to have been officially confirmed, but he is set to receive €6m in compensation given he had a year remaining on his contract. Luis Enrique has long been earmarked by PSG, and the former Barcelona boss will be unveiled in the coming days.

Le Parisien adds: “Luis Enrique is already at work, in contact with the club’s leaders, mainly the president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, and the sports adviser, Luis Campos. They are also working on recruitment, including the Korean from Mallorca, Lee Kang-In, and the Frenchman from Bayern Munich, Lucas Hernandez. The talks have entered the final phase after obtaining the agreement of the players.

“For Bernardo Silva, they are not at such an advanced stage, even if the Portuguese remains the top priority of PSG’s recruitment.”
