Jan Hoerl claims his first World Cup win of the season with Four Hills victory in Innsbruck

Jan Hoerl claimed his first FIS Ski Jumping World Cup win of the season with victory in the third Four Hills event in Innsbruck.

Hoerl was in dominant form on home snow, sealing top spot with 267.5 points, 8.8 ahead of second-place Ryoyu Kobayashi, with compatriot Michael Hayboeck in third.

The result moves Hoerl up to third in the overall Four Hills standings with just one event remaining, with action in Austria also causing change at the top ahead of the final stage in Bischofshofen on 6 January.

Kobayashi’s third consecutive second-place Four Hills finish sees the two-time champion move top of the tournament standings, usurping previous leader Andreas Wellinger, who finished fifth in Innsbruck behind Slovenia’s Lovro Kos.

Victory in Innsbruck moves Hoerl up to third ahead of fellow Austrians Stefan Kraft and Hayboeck, however Kraft remains top of the overall World Cup standings with an imperious 157-point lead over Wellinger.
