JAPAN LOOKING TO PULL OFF ANOTHER UPSET

It has been a remarkable tournament so far for the Samurai Blue, as the side were victorious against both Spain and Germany on their way to topping Group E.

On both occasions, mid-match tactical tweaks by Hajime Moriyasu made Japan look more dangerous, and their high press caused problems for Spain in particular.

With those two wins on the board, Japan come into this game with confidence. At the last World Cup in Russia in 2018, the Samurai Blue almost shocked Belgium in the round of 16, but they could not capitalise on taking a two-goal lead as they went down 3-2 to the Red Devils.
