Jason Kelce reacts to ‘Rudolph’ Sam the Snowman comparisons
Oh, that’s cold.
Fans on social media can’t look away after someone likened Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce to Sam the Snowman from the children’s classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
It all started on Christmas Eve when one fan posted on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, writing, “My sister: he looks like Jason Kelce. “Me: [looks up to see who she’s talking about],” they wrote, along with a photo of Sam.
Both the stop-motion puppet snowman and Kelce boast round statures with a handlebar mustache and jolly eyes that bunch up when they smile.
“His vest is even eagles colors,” another fan automatically noticed Sam’s green and black sweater vest.
“I was prepared to say no but if that isn’t spot on….” one person laughed.
A third wrote, “This legitimately made me cackle.”
“I see it,” someone else declared.
“I can’t unsee this now,” another’s holiday season was changed forever.
“I can’t believe this is going to be Taylor’s brother-in-law,” another said of Jason’s brother Travis dating Taylor Swift.
However, both Jason and Travis addressed the comparison on their podcast “New Heights,” claiming they didn’t see the resemblance.
“Not buying it,” both brothers agreed.
“I’ve always gotten I look like Yukon Cornelius,” Jason said of another “Rudolph” character, who also has a bushy handlebar mustache. “That’s the one that everyone’s always — and it’s from the exact same movie, so I was shocked when this picked up so much steam because I’ve always gotten that one.”
To Jason’s pleasure, one X user also agreed with the Cornelius comparison.
“I’ve always seen Jason Kelce, @JasonKelce,as Yukon Cornelius from Rudolph. Like spitting image! But now I see the resemblance to Sam the Snowman too. Does Jason just look like all the characters from Rudolph?” they wrote.
Meanwhile, Travis went viral for a different reason. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a scarlet mark on his neck in they believed to be a hickey.
“It did look like he had a hickey right there on his neck,” sports commentator Pat McAfeer said in a clip from his morning show. “That made me think, ‘Him and Taylor are just having fun.’”
