Jesse Williams to return to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 19

Dr. Jackson Avery is temporarily back in the office.

Jesse Williams will reprise his role as the hunky doctor — as well as direct — the fifth episode in the upcoming 19th season of “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Titled “When I Get to the Border,” this will be the fourth “Grey’s” episode that the 41-year-old Broadway star has directed.

Williams appeared on the hit ABC show for 12 seasons until he announced his departure in 2021.

The upcoming episode will follow Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Addison (Kate Walsh) as they embark on a road trip to volunteer at a family planning center but a patient’s ectopic pregnancy leads to complications. Meanwhile, interns will start piecing together information about Lucas’ (Niko Terho) relationship with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone).

Williams made his Broadway debut this spring in “Take Me Out” alongside Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The pair will reprise their roles in a limited 14-week run at New York City’s Schoenfeld Theatre starting Oct. 27.

During its first run, naughty fans broke the show’s no phones rule and recorded — then posted — Williams’ nude shower scene. He wasn’t phased, however, telling Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” about his experience. “Everybody around me [was] going, ‘Are you serious? Are you sure? Nude, nude? Naked, naked? Front?’ Everybody makes such a big deal. It’s a body.”

“Once you see it, you realize [it’s] whatever. It’s a body,” he added.
