Jimmy White and Stuart Bingham lose in English Open snooker qualifying round
Jimmy White and Stuart Bingham suffered defeats in the qualifying round for the English Open at the Morningside Arena in Leicester on Friday.
Six-time world finalist White went down 4-2 to last season’s Scottish Open finalist Joe O’Connor, while 2015 world champion Bingham lost 4-1 to Jenson Kendrick.
White produced breaks of 51 and 73 to level at 2-2 after O’Connor opened with 79, but lost the final two frames of the contest to crash out in the round of 128.
He was joined out the exit door by Bingham, who watched world No. 116 Kendrick run in 67 and 52 in easing through to the last 64.
Elsewhere, women’s world champion Baipat Siripaporn compiled a 63 break on her way to leading Muhammad Asif 3-1, but lost the final three frames to depart the tournament.
Dylan Emery advanced with a 4-2 win over Noppon Saengkham that included breaks of 62, 88 and 70.
