JLS singer Aston Merrygold’s backflip backfires onstage

JLS singer Aston Merrygold had a scary onstage incident on Saturday when he attempted a backflip but bungled it and landed dangerously on his back.

The incident was captured on video, and the clip has gone viral on TikTok and Instagram.

After his fall, Merrygold, 35, appeared unscathed and popped back up, and the boy band resumed performing as if nothing had happened.

One fan commented on TikTok, “The way he just got up and continued absolute pro, I’d [have] been sitting there thinking what just happened [could] have been so much worse.”

Still, many observers were freaked out by the risky mistake and were worried the singer wasn’t OK.

Merrygold and his wife, Sarah Louise, tried to ease concerns with an Instagram post saying the singer was healthy.

One TikTok commenter said of Merrygold’s accident, “What just happened [could] have been so much worse.”
