Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo and Frida Karlsson seal victory in Obertsdorf, Andrew Musgrave finishes seventh
Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo and Frida Karlsson prevailed in the cross country 10km World Cup event in Oberstdorf on Tuesday afternoon.
In the men’s race, Klaebo led a Norwegian clean sweep of the podium, with Simen Hegstad Krueger in second and Didrik Toenseth finishing third.
Klaebo was a fairly comfortable victor, with the 26-year-old finishing 12.4 seconds ahead of silver medallist Krueger, while Toenseth was a further ten seconds behind.

Sweden’s Calle Halfvarsson finished in fourth, while another Norwegian in the form of Paal Golberg came home in fifth place. Great Britain’s Andrew Musgrave finished in seventh place.
Victory for Klaebo sees him sit second in the overall World Cup standings and close the gap on current leader Golberg, who holds an 89-point advantage.
Italy’s Federico Pellegrino currently holds third position, with Hans Christer Holund in fourth and Martin Loewstroem Nyenget in fifth.
In the women’s race, Karlsson also proved to be a comfortable victor, as she finished ahead of Krista Parmakoski and Anne Kjersti Kalvaa to claim top spot on the podium.
The Swede finished 16.6 seconds ahead of Parmakoski, with the Finnish athlete narrowly holding off Norway’s Kalva to come second.
Tiril Udnes Weng just missed out on a podium place, finishing 1.9s behind compatriot Kalva to ultimately finish in fourth, while Kerttu Niskanen finished a distant fifth.
Victory for Karlsson sees her move to third in the overall World Cup standings, just ahead of Parmakoski in fourth.
Despite missing out on the podium, Weng holds a sizable lead at the very top of the rankings, with Jessie Diggins – who finished down in 40th in Oberstdorf – sitting in the silver medal position overall.
