Jonas Vingegaard, Sepp Kuss and Fem van Empel extend stays with Team Jumbo-Visma ahead of 2024 season
Two-time Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard has extended his contract with Team Jumbo-Visma until 2028, with Sepp Kuss and Fem van Empel also extending their stays with the team.
In 2023, the 27-year-old Vingegaard won his second consecutive Tour, as well as the Criterium du Dauphine and the Basque Tour, and took two stages at the Vuelta a Espana.
The Dane said: “I feel very much at home with this team. And we are very successful with our approach. That’s why I’m happy to extend my contract again.
“My future is here, and I’m proud of it.”
Kuss was a surprise winner of the Vuelta this season, with Vingegaard ultimately supporting his American team-mate to victory.
Kuss said: “This team is like a family. I feel at home here. The excellent results we have achieved as a team and my personal victory in the Vuelta a Espana are proof of that.
“It is also a good feeling to be able to build on this for the coming years. Together, we will be even more successful!”
Van Empel, 21, won the 2023 cyclocross World Championships and European Championships in her first season with the team. She and Kuss have both signed deals that run until 2027.
“I have the right people around me at Team Jumbo-Visma to continue to grow and achieve great results,” said Van Empel.
“Things are already going well, but I am convinced that even more is possible. I am therefore delighted to be able to count on the support of this team for many years to come.”
The team’s sporting director, Merijn Zeeman, added: “This is excellent news for us. We like to enter into long-term partnerships, and we are happy that Fem, Sepp and Jonas feel the same way.
“We will continue to make sports history in the years to come.”
