Judd Trump revels in historic third tournament win at German Masters – ‘It has been an amazing season’
Speaking in the aftermath of victory, shortly after lifting the trophy for a record third time, Trump was jubilant.
He turned first to the crowd which had supported and lifted him throughout the tournament.
He said: “I just want to thank everybody who came here this week and supported the event.
“The crowds have been amazing. This is definitely one of my favourite events on the calendar.”
Trump then turned to what is swiftly emerging as a candidate to be the best season of his career.
He said: “It’s been an amazing season so far. I think I’ve reached seven finals, six ranking finals, and this is my fourth win.
“Every tournament is special, but when you get to play in front of a crowd like this, and lift the trophy, they are the kinds of moments you remember at the end of your career.”
Only in 2019-20 did he win more than the four ranking finals that he already has to his name in this campaign, with five more tournaments still to come.
Beaten finalist Si was upbeat despite a convincing scoreline going against him in his first career ranking final.
He said: “I had an incredible run to the final, but after all, my opponent is Judd, he’s an amazing player.
“I have a lot to learn from him. I enjoyed this week.”
The 2023-24 snooker season resumes in two weeks with the Welsh Open at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, Wales.
