Judi Dench once made Lesley Manville wet herself onstage: ‘It gets worse’

She’s one funny dame.

Lesley Manville revealed that Dame Judi Dench once made her wet herself during a production of Anton Chekhov’s “The Cherry Orchard” in 1989.

Manville, who appeared on a recent episode of “The Graham Norton Show,” said that the NSFW incident took place when her character was alone onstage.

“There’s a moment in ‘The Cherry Orchard’ where my character was on their own onstage for a short time,” recounted Manville.

“Judi Dench is in the wings trying to make me laugh and she’s … how can I put this? She’s pretending that she’s being pleasured by somebody from behind.”

The 66-year-old actress said that she remembered “desperately trying not to laugh,” but eventually gave in but not before wetting herself in front of the audience.

“It gets worse,” joked Manville.

“The stage was raked so I watched my piss trickle down … If you were in the front row you’d have seen it go over the edge.”

Manville, who had just given birth, blamed the accident on her pelvic floor, and also credited the layered dress she wore onstage for saving her from an embarrassing situation.

Manville is slated to appear as Princess Margaret in the upcoming season of “The Crown” which will be released on Netflix Nov. 9.
