Julia Fox dishes on her days as a high school dominatrix

Julia Fox is now dominating the pages of Paper Magazine.

The “Uncut Gems” actress and former Kanye West muse, who worked as a dominatrix in high school, posed for a series of racy photos inside the Chelsea dungeon where she once fulfilled men’s kinky fantasies.

Speaking to her longtime friend, beauty writer Cat Marnell, Fox said returning for the Paper shoot made her go “full robot.”

“As I was walking down the stairs, I disassociated,” Fox, 32, told Paper. “As I was entering, I went back to how I would shut myself off and then perform whatever it was that I needed to be: A mean, evil teacher, domineering mother or nun or nurse, or whoever it was.”

But one role she relished: “I loved the medical room. I loved playing evil doctor [laughs]. Evil nurse.”

Fox was born in Milan, grew up in New York City and said she found “self worth and self esteem” in her unorthodox gig that spanned from high school into her early 20s. She also clearly took style cues from the job, as she is often photographed in risqué, vampy, barely- there looks.

The dungeon has a variety of rooms catering to everything from wrestling fetishes to naughty nurse fantasies. She said one customer paid her and another girl to wrestle.

“And then we beat him up a little bit, too. That was actually fun. I remember just laughing my a– off,” she said.

The Chelsea building that houses the dungeon was a study in contrasts. Well-heeled yoga moms would be taking classes on other floors while the men, and the women paid to humiliate them, would be walking in and out of the basement.

“Sometimes I’d run out of there half-naked because I had to take some guy’s card to the ATM to get money out. People were like, ‘What is going on down there?’ They probably thought it was a brothel or something, honestly.”

Fox said the job varied depending on the customer and she was normally given a heads up about the role she’d be playing.

“The headmistress — who’s like a manager — she would be like, ‘He has this specific fetish,’ you know, whatever…Sometimes you get to meet them beforehand in a little consultation room, but a lot of the time, not really. You just go in blindly with a little bit of knowledge and you just stretch it and make the most of it, you know?”

Ultimately, Fox said it was gratifying to work in the female-centric atmosphere, and it helped her filter out the “toxic men in my life. And the new men in my life became my clients who adored me — who literally let me piss on them and do whatever I wanted.

“And then on top of that, they’d pay me and bring me gifts and treat me like a f-cking goddess. Like, I didn’t even know what to do with that. I had been treated like shit by men my entire life, so I didn’t know that there was more.”

Marnell called the sexy shoot “an amazing full-circle moment,” and Fox said she felt “lucky” to return in a different capacity.

“Because I remember when I was there when I was younger and I talked to some girls and they’d been there for like, 10-plus years,” she said. “I remember thinking to myself, like, ‘I don’t want that.’ Even though I did love it there, I always wanted more for myself.”
