Jurgen Klopp rules out any late moves from Liverpool in the January transfer window
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the club will not be making any late moves in the January transfer window.
The Reds have had a tough month in the domestic cups, with defeats to Manchester City and Brighton sending them crashing out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup respectively.
With Liverpool way off the pace in the Premier League, they are 21 points adrift of leaders Arsenal, their only hope of securing silverware this term will be a run to glory in the Champions League. The Reds play Real Madrid over two legs in the round of 16.

While Klopp will be keen to keep his players motivated for the remainder of the season, it looks a long few months ahead for the Reds.
Klopp is having to operate under the shadow of takeover talk at Anfield, with owners Fenway Sports Group inviting offers for investment.
The German coach was given the green light to sign Cody Gakpo in January, but no other players will follow the former PSV Eindhoven forward to Merseyside.
Asked about the prospect of any late moves, speaking to beIN Sport, Klopp said: “No, nothing will happen in this transfer window.”
Klopp felt his Liverpool side performed well at Brighton, but lamented the failure to deal with the set-pieces that led to the Seagulls’ goals.
Klopp was disappointed with the lack of support for his right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, but had words of praise for Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma whose exquisite goal won the match.
“On the left side Robbo (Andy Robertson) was ok because we helped him but on the other side Trent didn’t get the support,” Klopp said. “Mitoma is really good so, of course, it was tough.
“We could have defended both goals better. The first is deflected but we can probably block the shot.
“It doesn’t feel great. In time we might see the positives but we wanted to get the next round. Congratulations to Brighton.”
Liverpool will have to dust themselves down as they are back in action away to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
