Kamala Harris huddles with George Soros’ son Alexander
Vice President Kamala Harris was all smiles Tuesday as she posed for a photo with the son of far-left billionaire George Soros as speculation swirls about her future presidential ambitions.
Harris, 58, greeted Open Society Foundations chair Alexander Soros shortly after flying back to Washington from Philadelphia, where she held an event with the Service Employees International Union.
“Great to catch up with Madame Vice President, @KamalaHarris!” Alexander Soros tweeted.
The vice president did not acknowledge the sit-down on her public schedule, and a spokeswoman for her office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Harris quietly met last year with several wealthy donors from her past political campaigns, including Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple cofounder Steve Jobs; and Vanessa Getty, the wife of billionaire oil magnate Billy Getty.
The younger Soros, 37, has made at least a dozen other visits to the White House, according to official visitor logs, including to attend a swanky state dinner for French President Emmanuel Macron late last year.
Alexander Soros also contributed $726,900 to the Biden Victory Fund for the 2020 election, according to Federal Election Commission records. He has put another $11 million in the pockets of left-wing PACs since 2010, and has been photographed several times hobnobbing at events with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
His father George donated $125 million to Democratic groups and candidates in the 2022 cycle through his Democracy PAC.
Polls have shown a majority of Democrats are nervous about President Biden running for re-election in 2024 — with more than half (52%) opposing his bid for a second term, according to an AP-NORC poll from April.

However, 41% of Democrats said in the same poll they would definitely support Biden and 40% said they probably would, if he secures their party’s nomination.
The president took a tumble on stage last week while congratulating graduating cadets at the Air Force Academy and needed to be helped to his feet — raising fresh concerns about his health and longevity.
When asked Monday whether “a vote for President Biden is a vote for Vice President Kamala Harris,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said she was “not going to comment on 2024.”
Alexander Soros has also met with other White House officials, including Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer and Advisor to the Counselor of President Mariana Adame.
The Biden administration has not commented on the substance of the meetings. Open Society Foundations did not respond to a request for comment.
