Kate Middleton jab made in ‘Citadel,’ starring Markle pal Priyanka Chopra

Kate Middleton appears to be the punchline of a tawdry joke on Amazon Prime’s “Citadel,” which stars Meghan Markle’s pal Priyanka Chopra.

Chopra, 41 — who plays the series lead, agent Nadia Sinh — has been a close friend of Markle’s since 2016, when they met at Elle’s Women in Television event.

In the third episode of “Citadel,” which dropped earlier this month, Nadia sends Mason Kane, played by Richard Madden, to meet with crime honcho Balduino Basto.

Balduino, played by Sen Monro, is asked to help break into the office of the armed forces chief, to which he exclaims: “The chief of armed forces? You might as well have asked me how to get between the legs of the Duchess of Cambridge!”

The Post reached out to Amazon for comment.

The line coincides with a clever critic noting what seemed to be a reference to the royal family in the live action remake of Disney’s “Little Mermaid,” starring Halle Bailey.

In the scene, Prince Eric guesses Ariel’s name — because she traded her voice for legs — asking first if it is Diana, then Catherine.

“His first guess is Diana. His second guess is Catherine, but after [Ariel gives a disgusted] reaction, he [concludes] ‘OK, definitely not Catherine,’” the unidentified critic told Page Six.

The perceptive viewer alleged the name drops could not be a coincidence, believing it was a reference to the late Princess Diana and Middleton, who goes by Kate.

“Disney would be disingenuous to imply those name choices were coincidental,” the critic argued.

Middleton and Markle, both 41, have been at odds over the years, most notably since Markle and Prince Harry’s infamous 2020 departure from Britain and rejection of royal duties.

The duchesses’ debacle came to a head ahead of King Charles III’s coronation this month, when inside sources alleged Middleton was “relieved” the Duchess of Sussex would skip the ceremony.

Most recently, Markle and Harry were involved in what their representatives called a “near catastrophic” car chase Tuesday following an NYC gala, which prompted an NYPD investigation and an onslaught of mockery.

The Sussexes’ rep claims the alleged two-hour pursuit by “aggressive” paparazzi caused “multiple near collisions,” but the photo agency, Backgrid USA, denied the allegations.

In a statement released this week, law enforcement said that while there were no reported collisions or injuries, the photographers “made their transport challenging.”
