Kate Middleton, Prince William ’embarrassed’ over holiday card Photoshop disaster

But they’re not pointing fingers.

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s holiday card has gone viral this year — but not the way they anticipated.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 41, are said to be “embarrassed” over their family portrait Photoshop fail, which appears to show their youngest, Prince Louis, with a missing middle finger.

“[They] were as shocked as everyone else,” a source tells Us Weekly.

On Dec. 9, the royal couple released their annual photo alongside their children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, 5.

“Our family Christmas card for 2023 🎄❤️,” the Prince and Princess of Wales wrote.

In addition to Louis’ hand snafu, the black-and-white snapshot has drawn laughs from some critics online, with one joking it looks like a JCPenney ad.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s card, meanwhile, hasn’t made such a fuss. They released their image, which was a throwback to Charles’ coronation in May, just hours earlier.

“Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year,” their card read.

Despite the Louis hiccup — which could have easily been just the little one holding back his finger himself — photographer Josh Shinner opened up about working with the family to capture the moment.

“It was such a pleasure to photograph The Prince and Princess of Wales and their family for the Christmas portrait this year,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Without doubt one of the most relaxed and enjoyable sittings I’ve ever had, and I now have a whole new set of jokes that are right on my level thanks to the children…” he continued.

When one commenter asked what jokes he could reveal, he replied: “Keeping those to myself I’m afraid! ;).”

Shinner also shared an original sketch of what he envisioned for the family of five before meeting with them. “This was the starting point for the final composition,” he wrote alongside the image.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, meanwhile, have yet to release their own card featuring son Archie, 4, and daughter Lilibet, 2.

In December 2022, they released a simple black-and-white photo of just the couple. “Wishing you a joyful holiday season,” the card read. “From our family to yours, and on behalf of our teams at The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio, and Archewell Productions, we wish you health, peace, and a very happy new year!”

They signed the card with their hand-written signatures, and added: “Best wishes, Prince Harry & Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

One year earlier, their children did join them for a card as they all coordinated in jeans.

“This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family,” their note read at the time.

“As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families — from those being relocated from Afghanistan, to American families in need of paid parental leave,” they continued. “Wishing you a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year, from our family to yours!”
