Katy Perry ‘ran straight’ into King Charles, Queen Camilla after coronation

Katy Perry made a royal mistake when she attended King Charles’ coronation in May 2023.

The “Firework” singer, 39, revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that she was staying at Windsor Castle at the time, and bumped right into the newly-crowned monarch, 75, on the property.

“I brought my mother because, I mean, that’s like the best gift you could ever give your mom,” Perry said on Monday.

The “American Idol” judge — who will exit after Season 7 — came face to face with Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, after the ceremony ended.

The trio were filming a segment for the ABC singing competition series alongside fellow judge Lionel Richie.

“Everyone was running,” Perry explained, adding that she had to take specific walking pathway into the castle so she didn’t walk into any members of the royal family.

She continued: “I ran straight into them, and I was like, ‘Oh, went the wrong way!’”

The “I Kissed a Girl” singer went on to gush over Richie, 74, saying that he helped put the scene together with the Firm.

The “We Are The World” producer “could convince anyone to do anything.”

Perry went viral during the actual May 6 coronation, where she rocked a purple hat and matching dress. She also looked confused when she scanned the room for a seat at Westminster Abbey.

“There’s no assigned seating,” she told Kimmel, 56, about the moment.

“It’s general admission?” the talk show host quipped.

The crowning had open seating for the 2,200 guests except from “the first two rows,” she said.

“Were the people you sat in front of happy to be behind that hat?” Kimmel wondered. Perry shook her head “no.”

The day after the crowning, a coronation concert was held at Windsor to celebrate the new reign of Charles on May 7.

Perry performed her iconic singles “Roar” and “Firework.” while other singers such as Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Take That, Paloma Faith and Nicole Scherzinger were also in attendance.

King Charles’ eldest song, Prince William, made a speech and was joined in the crowd by his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. Prince Harry, for his part, immediately left the May 6 ceremony — in his suit and hanger in hand — as he jetted off to reunite with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children in Montecito, Calif.
