Katy Perry’s ‘American Idol’ finale dress trolled by viewers
Katy Perry made quite a splash again.
Viewers of the “American Idol” season finale on Sunday slammed the always controversial Perry’s revealing outfit on social media, saying that it was more of a swimsuit than dress.
The bright orange garment featured several cutouts down the front of the 38-year-singer accentuating her breast as well as her midriff.
The look culminated in a sheer floor-length fabric that veiled the singer’s legs with rhinestones.
Perry accesorized the outfit with a pair of high-heeled sandals.
Perry’s dress is the latest of several instances where the “Teenage Dream” singer has come under fire from “Idol” fans.
Many of Perry’s critics come from the way she has treated competitors during the course of the show’s 21st season.
“Is she at a swim meet?” tweeted one viewer alongside a photo of Perry clapping.
“That dress is not flattering on Katy Perry,” snarked a second fan with a cringey Britney Spears GIF.
The Post reached out to Perry for comment.
Meanwhile, following 18-year-old Iam Tongi’s big win on Sunday’s “Idol” season finale, Perry posted a sultry photo of her in the dress on Instagram with the caption “Orange u glad it was a great #idolfinale?”
Several fans — including Perry’s fiancé of four years, actor Orlando Bloom — “Roared” their love for the songstress. (Bloom, 46, even posted peach and fire emojis to show his admiration for his gal’s look.)
Even though the dress received “Hot n Cold” reviews, Perry is certainly no stranger to being critiqued on social media.
Throughout the entire season of “American Idol,” Perry has caused several “fireworks” on the stage and sparked the ire of several online fans.
Last month, Perry was slammed for “mom-shaming” 25-year-old Sara Beth Liebe, who eventually quit the show.
The “Peacock” singer was also lambasted by fans for being “dismissive” of contestants as well as “waging psychological warfare” on singers.
Perry was also booed for dissing another hopeful’s glittery costume.
Fans of the show also called for Perry’s removal after she was replaced by “Perfect” singer Alanis Morrissette when asked by King Charles III to perform at his coronation concert in front of 20,000 people.
