Kellyanne says media keeps facts ‘hidden and shrouded’

Former Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway railed against the media for its coverage of the Trump administration and of current crises, saying facts are kept “hidden and shrouded.”

In an interview Sunday on John Catsimatidis’ WABC 770 AM talk show “Cats Roundtable,” Conway claimed Democrats have unraveled “so many great” accomplishments of the Trump administration.

The Republican strategist, who served as Trump’s campaign manager during his upset 2016 victory, said she was initially “naive” when dealing with the press.

“I really thought that the media would want to get the story and not just get the president,” Conway said.

“All we see is chaos and crisis — not chaos and crisis in a tweet or an Oval Office spontaneous briefing — chaos and crisis at the gas pump, in the grocery store, in Ukraine, at the southern border, in our communities, yes our urban areas but also our suburbs as well; rising crime, rising costs. And the media don’t want to cover that,” she said.

Conway cited NBC News anchor Savannah Guthrie’s sharp challenge of reporter Dasha Burns, who asserted Democratic US Senate candidate John Fetterman was cognitively challenged.

“They want everything to be hidden and shrouded and not surface and be transparent to the people ahead of these midterms,” Conway said.

Conway also trumpeted the former president as a great “girl boss,” saying he understood the maternal needs of five of his top female staffers who collectively were raising 19 young children while in the White House.

“You go show me a place in corporate or America or non-profit America where that’s true, where working mom’s like that with that many kids, those ages, feel like they are supported, they are respected, they are listened too, they are valued and involved,” Conway told Catsimatidis.

Shortly after Conway’s memoir “Here’s the Deal” came out, her estranged husband and frequent critic appeared on cable television to bash his wife’s former boss at the same time she was holding a book launch party at a Georgetown restaurant.

“’You have ruined yourself and you have embarrassed this family’” by working for Trump, George Conway told Kellyanne, she recounted in the book.

I’ve embarrassed this family?” she shot back at the conservative trial lawyer, according to the book. “You abandoned me for Twitter and she’s not even hot,” she said referencing his frequent online critiques of the administration.
