Kelsea Ballerini appears annoyed after losing to Lainey Wilson at Grammys 2024
Kelsea Ballerini didn’t appear impressed at the 2024 Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The 30-year-old singer was caught on camera looked a tad upset after she lost the award for Best Country Album to fellow artist Lainey Wilson.
Ballerini had been nominated for her record “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat,” while Wilson was honored for her work on “Bell Bottom Country.”
Eagle-eyed fans took to social media to discuss Ballerini’s not-so-subtle facial expressions.
“Kelsea Ballerini’s face when Lainey won. 😳😳😳 Knowing she got snubbed!!!” someone wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Another person exclaimed: “I will be raising havoc throughout Nashville until further notice. JUSTICE FOR KELSEA BALLERINI.”
“The industry does not give kelsea ballerini the recognition she deserves,” a third said.
Another fan insisted that the Tennessee native was “robbed” and should have won the award, while another claimed “the Grammys are BS” because she didn’t win.
Despite the loss, Ballerini appeared in better spirits later in the night as she danced alongside Taylor Swift in the audience while Miley Cyrus sang her hit “Flowers.”
The “Love Me Like You Mean It” singer nearly ran late for the ceremony altogether.
Earlier in the day, she revealed via Instagram Stories: “Just for a team update, it’s pouring outside, traffic’s in gridlock. We’re not going to make the red carpet. Maybe we’ll make the show. Hopefully, by the award.”
“What are you gonna do? You’re just gonna vibe. We’re just vibing,” she went on. “This record’s about things not panning out how you thought they would and this is God herself being like, ‘Member.’”
“Rolling Up the Welcome Mat” was released in February 2023 and dropped just months after her divorce from ex-husband Morgan Evans was finalized.
She opened up about her EP and how special and intimate it was for her to record it in January.
She told People: “I made it very selfishly … quite literally emotionally because I had to.”
“I put my dog’s name and addresses and receipts, and all these things, and it connected more than anything else I’ve ever put out,” Ballerini continued.

“I think for a long time, even though I was writing about my life and my emotions, I would try to round the edges, because I’m like, ‘I want everyone to feel themselves in this,’ or see themselves in the story.”
Ballerini moved on with “Outer Banks” actor Chase Stokes, and the couple recently celebrated their one-year anniversary together.
