Kelsey Grammer reprises iconic role in ‘Frasier’ reboot trailer

Get ready to toss your salad and scramble your eggs because Frasier Crane — sorry, “Dr.” Crane — is coming back to town.

Kelsey Grammer is reprising his role as the famed Seattle radio psychiatrist in Paramount+’s “Frasier” revival, airing on the streamer come Oct. 12 with the first two episodes.

A teaser for the new series dropped today and features the “X-Men: The Last Stand” actor, 68, stepping into the shoes of his longtime character once again.

Grammer has played Frasier in the hit NBC sitcom “Cheers” from 1984 until 1993.

He then had his own eponymous spinoff show that was broadcasted on the network from 1993 until 2004.

And almost 20 years later, the stiff and pretentious Dr. Crane is back in Boston.

However, things have changed a lot in the last few years.

“The new series follows Frasier Crane (Grammer) in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill,” the official synopsis reads. “Frasier has re-entered the building!”

The cast for the upcoming sitcom includes Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son Freddy, Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college friend Alan, Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate and Anders Keith as David, Frasier’s nephew.

OG “Cheers” star Bebe Neuwirth will also make a guest appearance in one episode as Frasier’s ex-wife, Dr. Lilith Sternin and Peri Gilpin is returning as Frasier’s pal Roz Doyle.

There are also a few other original cast members from the parent series who will not be joining Fraiser on his brand new adventure in Massachusetts.

John Mahoney — who portrayed Frasier’s father Martin Crane — died in 2018. David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier’s uptight brother Niles Crane, will not be heading to the reboot show.

The trailer opens with Frasier talking pretentiously with his friends at a bar and of course, drinking a beer like the old days at Cheers.

A tense meeting between Freddy and the psychiatrist also goes down, with the young man seemingly feeling shocked and weirded out by his dad’s sudden arrival.

Frasier then laments to his friends how he feels distant from his only child and how he’s living with a girlfriend he never met.

The original show’s iconic theme song also plays in the background as scenes from the revival float by.

“Frasier’s back — and he’s basically the same,” the teaser joked.

The “Frasier” revival will consist of 10 episodes.
