Kevin Costner and Jewel are ‘having fun’ thanks to matchmaker Richard Branson

Kevin Costner and Jewel appear to be heating up following his nasty divorce from ex-wife Christine Baumgartner — and it’s all thanks to mutual friend Richard Branson.

The pair struck up a bond after Branson invited both of them to go to his Caribbean island over Thanksgiving weekend.

Last week, Costner and the musician’s rumored romance made headlines when TMZ published photos of the “Yellowstone” actor wrapping his arms around her waist.

Despite the PDA, however, a source tells Daily Mail that they are just “having fun” and are not “serious” — yet.

“Richard is 100 percent responsible for Kevin and Jewel hooking up. She has been a friend of Branson’s for years and he has been a close friend of Kevin’s since the 1990’s,” the source adds.

“Richard invited Jewel to hold her charity fundraiser on Necker and, honestly, the hookup happened organically. They hit it off well and Jewel seems to be happy about it.”

The source added that Jewel’s friends “can see a light int her” when she’s with the Oscar winner “that hasn’t been there in quite some time.”

An insider also told TMZ last week that the relationship is “rather new.”

“There was definitely something going on,” a source told the outlet. “They were flirty. And when they were together, it was like they both just lit up.”

A second source added, “You could tell they were trying to be discreet, but anybody who saw them could tell something was going on.”

After the getaway, Jewel gushed over the actor in an Instagram post.

“A little late posting. Every year, my foundation @inspiringchildren and I go to Necker Island to help host a tennis event w @richardbranson to raise funds for our kids. Amazing players like @geniebouchard come and support us in playing doubles with the folks who come. It’s an incredible time, and one I use to relax, rest and play w my son!” She wrote on Nov. 28.

She went on: “@kevincostnermodernwest was kind enough to mentor our kids this year, and Sir Richard was his usual inspiring self- who also plays a mean game of doubles!”

The “Foolish Games” singer was married to rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, with whom she shares son, Kase, 12, for six years until their split in 2014. She was also briefly linked to Sean Penn in 1995.

Costner, for his part, settled his divorce with Baumgartner in September. While the pair share Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13, Costner has four other children from past relationships.

He’s also dad to Annie, 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35, from his first marriage to Cindy Silva (from 1978-1994), and son Liam, 27, with his ex-girlfriend, Bridget Rooney.
