Kevin Costner’s ex is ‘relieved’ to get child support: ‘Not their fault’

“Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner’s ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, is reportedly “relieved” by the tentative ruling set Tuesday that he would pay her $129,755 per month in child support — half of what she originally wanted.

Baumgartner, 49, “only wants to take care of and support her children,” an inside source told People on Thursday.

“The divorce is not their fault,” the source continued. “She doesn’t want them to suffer, or experience negative life changes because of it.”

The insider also divulged the alleged toll that this has taken on the mom.

“It’s all stressful for Christine, but she is trying to stay positive,” the source told the outlet.

The Post reached out to representatives for both Costner and Baumgartner.

In early May, the couple filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” — but it has quickly turned into a tense and vicious legal battle over their Santa Barbara, Calif., home and claims of lavish spending.

The couple wed in September 2004.

Earlier this week, Judge Thomas Anderle mandated that the couple will be required to each pay 50% of their children’s private school tuition, extracurricular activities and unreimbursed health care expenses under the interim ruling seen by The Post.

But per TMZ, the child support order is temporary and there will be a full hearing over the next few months, which means that the payment amount could change in the future.

Originally, Baumgartner requested that Costner pay up $248,000 per month in child support.

She also wanted the actor to cover the entire cost of their children’s private school tuition, health care and extracurricular activities, per People.

Costner initially offered her $51,940 in child support per month, which she dubbed as “completely inappropriate,” according to a report by TMZ that was published last week.

The couple share three kids together: Cayden, 16; Hayes, 14; and Grace, 13.

They each filed for joint custody of the kids, which will be taken up in a hearing on July 12, per Entertainment Tonight.

And even though things have been less ideal between the two of them during the divorce process, it looks like things are continuing to heat up.

Baumgartner’s close friend told the Daily Mail this week that Costner is out to make her life a “living hell.”

“He wants to humiliate her,” the friend, who opted to remain anonymous, told the Daily Mail. “This isn’t about the house, it’s about making Christine’s life a living hell for actually going through with the divorce.”

The confidante also claimed that, “Christine said she wouldn’t be surprised if Kevin had her escorted off the property by police.”

Costner had been attempting to push Baumgartner off of their marital property for weeks, noting a premarital agreement that they signed in 2004 that she would leave the house within 30 days if they ever split up.

Costner was previously married to Cindy Silva, 66, from 1978 to 1994.

They have three children together: Annie, now 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35.

He also shares a son, Liam, now 27, with actress Bridget Rooney, 61.
