LA Thieves make off with $700K worth of rare wine from liquor store

They made a grape escape.

Brazen thieves broke into a Los Angeles liquor store and stole roughly $700,000 worth of rare wines, according to the store owner.

The heist happened around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, Nazmul Haque Helal, the owner of Lincoln Fine Wines, told KTLA.

Security footage shared with the station shows a white pickup truck pulling up in the rear parking lot of the store before parking nearby, still in view of the camera.

The suspect got out of a truck and leaped on top of a white container to gain access to the store.

A masked suspect exits the truck and approaches the store. He leaps on top of a metal container with what appears to be a knife or other cutting tool in his hands, the video shows.

Helal said the handy thieves sliced a hole into the ceiling above the store’s wine cellar — where it keeps its most expensive fine wines — and scaled down using a rock climbing rope.

Helal told KTLA he released the video in the hopes that the thieves will be caught before hitting another liquor store.
