Lindsay Shiver appears in court with Bahamian lover and alleged hitman
The Georgia housewife who was arrested in the Bahamas for allegedly plotting to kill her estranged husband was reunited with her Bahamian lover and the alleged hitman in court Wednesday prior to being released on bail.
Lindsay Shiver, 36, sat in the defendant’s box with her boyfriend Terrance Adrien Bethel and accused hitman Faron Newbold — with the lovebirds spotted whispering and smiling at each other throughout the proceedings.
The trio has been accused of orchestrating a hit against Robert Shiver, 38, a former Auburn football player and father-of-three who filed for divorce against Shiver in April, citing her infidelity.
Shiver, who has remained in Nassau’s notorious Fox Hill Prison for 19 days since her arrest, was expected to be released on a $100,000 bond after being outfitted with an ankle monitor.
Her lawyers said she will reside in the island’s Cable Beach neighborhood after surrendering her passport to a US Embassy representative in the courthouse.
Lindsay Shiver is also barred from contacting Robert, who remains in the couple’s $2.5 million mansion in Thomasville, Georgia, with their three boys.
The mother-of-three appeared worn out with her hair tied in a bun when entering the courthouse Wednesday morning. She attempted to hide her face behind a manila folder from photographers before an officer put her hands down.
None of her friends and family appeared to be in the courtroom. Lawyers for the trio declined to comment on the case.
Lindsay’s release came after the hearing was extended Tuesday when a judge declined her immediate release and pushed the decision to the following day.
Wednesday’s proceedings were the first time the three alleged co-conspirators were seen together after they were filmed walking through an airport on the island of Great Abaco by police, who flew them to Nassau for processing following their arrest on July 21.
Bethel, 28, and Newbold, 29, were released from prison earlier this week after each posting their $20,000 bond.
All three suspects have claimed there were never any serious discussions to kill Robert, who Lindsay accused of domestic violence after he filed for divorce.
Instead, Bethel claimed Lindsay was just venting about her troubled marriage, despite investigators finding a message sent to Newbold containing a picture of Robert with “kill him” written on it.
