Lisa Ann Walter shares her ‘Parent Trap’ celeb crush
Chessy and Martin might have had the perfect on-screen lust in the 1998 movie “The Parent Trap,” but Lisa Ann Walter, who played Chessy, was crushing on a different co-star.
Walter, 59, revealed on “Watch What Happens Live” that she had a major crush on Dennis Quaid, who played Nick Parker, the father of the twins played by Lindsay Lohan and who employed Chessy as the nanny.
The actress was asked if Quaid, 69, knew that she and Elaine Hendrix, 52, who played Meredith Blake in the film, had crushes on him — and if they ever made a move.
“Elaine’s my best friend, if she had made a move, I would have known about it,” Walter said of Hendrix, who was only 26 when they shot the movie. “I absolutely had a crush on him. [Elaine] was very young, so maybe he was crushing on her a little bit.”
The “Abbott Elementary” star revealed all the details of her crush on Quaid — which dated back to his 1986 movie “The Big Easy.”
“I had a crush on him since his early days, especially in ‘The Big Easy,’” Walter admitted.
“And there were some great lines in that movie and on the last day I shot with him, I said, ‘OK, it’s our last day. You have to say a line with me.’ And he said, ‘From which movie?’ And I said, ‘The Big Easy.’ And he leaned down and he whispered in my ear, ‘Your luck’s about to change, cher.’ And I fell on the ground.”
“WWHL” host Andy Cohen agreed that Quaid was a “crushable” man, to which Walter replied “Yeah, he’s gorgeous.”
Though both Walter and Hendrix were thirsting after Quaid on set, the “Far From Heaven” actor was married to Meg Ryan at the time, though they divorced in 2001.
